Howard Pflanzer | Spinning in Air

Spinning in Air

A strand of spider silk strung between the nearly touching pines

Glistening in the yellow sunlight back dropped by the blue sky

At moments glowing like a shining UFO

Yellow flitting across the endless azure

What intrepid spider spun this golden thread into the void

To connect this vast distance

Was it the builder of an arachnid empire

Or a sudden flight of fantasy

To bridge an uncharted space
